Iklan apa?

We've already looked at various ads (iklan). And we know what a surat khabar (newspaper) is. There are ads in newspapers.

Iklan dalam surat khabar

Cik Jocelyn: Ini apa?    'What's this?'

Terrence: Iklan. 'An ad.'

Cik Jocelyn: Iklan tentang apa?  'An ad about what?'

Terence: Kerusi, meja, set bilik tidur.  'Chairs, tables, bedroom set'.

Cik Jocelyn: Ya, dan katil juga.  'Yes, and beds too.'

We can ask What is this ad about? or What is this ad?

Cik Jocelyn: Ini iklan apa, Matt?   'What ad is this, Matt?'

Matt: Iklan Malaysia-Airlines. 'A Malaysia Airlines ad.'

Cik Jocelyn: Betul, ini iklan Malaysia Airlines.    'Right, this a Malaysia Airlines ad.

We can talk about many things based on ads in newspapers.  There are a few questions we can ask about an ad:

Ini iklan apa? 'This is what kind of ad?

Apa nama kedai? 'What's the name of the store?'

Kedai itu di mana?  'Where is the store at?'

Berapa harga?  'What is the cost [of the item or service sold]?'

For example,

Iklan ini tentang tiket kapal terbang.  Malaysian Airlines beri diskaun.  Kami beli tiket diskaun on-line. Harga tiket dari Kuala Lumpur ke Kota Kinabalu dua ratus dua puluh dua ringgit saja.

This ad is about airplane tickets. Malaysian Airlines gives a discount. We buy discount tickets on-line. The cost of a ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu is RM222 only.

Ini iklan mesin basuh dan peti sejuk. Nama kedai kedai Sen. Kita bayar di internet. Kita bayar RM51 per bulan.  Kita bayar 36 bulan. Harga mesin basuh seribu lapan ratus tiga puluh enam ringgit.

This is a washing machine and a refrigerator ad. The name of the store is the Sen store. We pay RM51 per month. We pay 36 months. The cost of the washing machine is RM1836.

Ini juga iklan kerusi. Nama kedai itu kedai Rozel. Ada banyak harga. Ada kerusi yang berharga lima ribu sembilan ratus sembilan puluh ringgit Ada kerusi yang berharga seribu tiga ratus sembilan puluh.  Kedai Rozel di banyak lokasi. Ada lima belas lokasi.

This too is a chair ad.  The name of the store is the Rozel store. There are many prices. There are chairs proced RM5990. There are chairs priced RM1390.  The Rozel store is in many locations. There are 15 locations.
